Does the party have any plan to field women candidates in the 2022 Assembly polls? Mahilas may try to seek answers to these questions. And, so are new entrants in the party, including Sabitabai Mascarenhas and others, who may be all bracing up to throw their hat in the election ring on the party banner. Any question from Congress bosses? Chidambaram may have an answer during his weekend visit to Goa.

THE APPOINTMENT and re-appointment of Curtorim Congress block Congress chief has been the talking point in political circles, both within the Congress circles and outside. Consider this. Congress MLA Reginaldbab Lourenco had his way when he got Terrancio Fernandes to head the block. MP Sardinha is believed to have insisted on retaining outgoing block Chief Milagres Fernandes. Days later, Milagres returns back on the saddle. Hazard a guess what made Reginaldbab surrender the post? Is it a sign of peace as he calls it or did the ST factor play its role? He is believed to have descended on arch rival Churchillbab Alemao’s home turf Varca. With the Congress appointing a new president for Benaulim, Mickkybab, sources said has drawn up plans to move around the constituency from next month. Wait and watch.

In fact, political observers are trying to figure out whether the saffron brigade has drawn up plans to go big in Curtorim in 2022. Local party leaders led by Anthonybab Barbosa, Bhaveshbab Zambaulim seemed leaving no stone unturned to reach out to the minorities in the constituency.
