Ajgaonkar’s support to illegal houses raises speculations
For a moment, political circles were abuzz with speculations whether senior BJP leader and ex-DyCM Babu Ajgaonkar has set his eyes on Navelim constituency. For, Babu has taken up cudgels for the 166 illegal houses in Davorlim falling under Navelim constituency represented by BJP MLA Ulhasbab Tuenkar. Sources said the Ajgaonkar camp is of the opinion that the ex-DyCM would have had a smooth sailing had he contested the 2022 polls from Navelim instead of Margao, where he received a drubbing from Diggu. For, many say Babu’s ardent supporters in the Gandhi market are voters from the Davorlim-Navelim belt and would have helped to keep him in good stead in the election. Any takers?
