This “Pele” from Benaulim has been an ardent fan of Varca strongman Churchillbab Alemao as well as of Goa Forward Chief Vijaibab Sardesai over the years. Though Churchillbab and Vijaibab enjoyed a love-hate political relationship in recent times, Pele was often seen in the company of the duo in Benaulim and Fatorda. Ahead of the 2022 electoral battle, Pele has sprung a surprise, preferring to play for the Goa Forward team. Why he did not sign for Churchill remains unknown. And, what further remains unknown is whether Pele had kept the Varca strongman in the loop before embracing Goa Forward. Wait and watch.
