Rahul’s msg to Goa unit to take ‘Goa Jodo’ forward?

What message did Rahul Gandhi convey to GPCC chief Amitbab Patkar and Opposition Leader Yuribab Alemao when the duo joined the Congress leader’s Bharat Jodo Yatra in Karnataka earlier this week? Well, this question is being asked in Congress circles and outside after both Amitbab and Yuribab were seen talking while walking alongside Rahul in Karnataka. If sources close to these leaders are to be believed, Rahul is believed to have given the green signal to the duo to take the party forward in Goa from the grassroots. Any doubts?

Luizinho’s close aides stand by his top political career

The absence of Rajya Sabha MP Luizinhbab Faleiro’s name in the TMC Goa State committee has become a talking point in the media and outside. But, ask the MP or his close aides, and do not be surprised to hear a reply from the seasoned politician or his aides that the former Chief Minister has enjoyed top positions in Congress during his long political career. Sources said the MP’s close aides will not forget to remind him that Luizinhbab had occupied the highest positions in Congress, including the member of the AICC and CWC, the highest decision-making body. Any questions?

Kamat boasts Margao projects executed when he was CM

What exactly did Diggu convey when he publicly stated he was instrumental in getting many a project in the commercial capital when he was the State’s CM and Damubab Naik the Fatorda MLA. Well, after the BJP emerged triumphant in the MMC chief post, Diggu along with the newly-elected Chairperson Damu Shirodkar descended at the Pimpalkatta to pay respects to Lord Dambab. There, in the presence of the two-time former MLA Damubab Naik, Diggu said projects such as the district hospital, Collectorate and Ravindra Bhavan, were all executed by him when Damubab was representing Fatorda. Has friend-turned-foe anything to say?

When Ravi dodged reply on his innings with BJP

Is Ravibab Naik happy in his second innings with the saffron brigade? This question was posed to the Agriculture Minister during his visit to Saxttidom and Ravibab, known for his wit and humour, replied saying he is happy with the ruling dispensation. Ravibab said the circumstances in the BJP then and now are different. In his characteristic fashion, Ravibab quipped “the old poders (bakers) are no more around and so is the old bread,” further adding that the person controlling the BJP at that time is also not around now.” Who was Ravibab referring to in the BJP? No prizes for the right answer.

All eyes on Goa Forward supremo’s Velim plan

This may make reading interesting. Around a month ago, speculations were rife that Goa Forward chief Vijaibab Sardesai is not averse to the merger of the regional outfit with the Congress. When reports over the merger did the rounds in political circles, Vijaibab had neither confirmed nor denied the reports. Earlier this month, Vijaibab had a meeting with Aam Aadmi Party Goa chief Amitbab Palyekar. Even as many a question remains unanswered over the Vijai-Amit meeting, the Goa Forward chief seemed to have now eyed on Velim, represented by AAP MLA Cruzbab D’Silva, by roping in anti-coal activist, Freddy Travasso. Interesting, isn’t it?

Imagine another round of defection in Congress!

This is just food for thought. Just imagine a situation if the ruling dispensation engineers yet another defection in the Congress Legislative Party. The Congress tally in the Legislative Assembly would overnight come down to a lone MLA, assuming two of the three MLAs walk out. CLP Leader Yuri Alemao would not only lose the status as Opposition leader, but the position would go to the Aam Aadmi Party which is having two MLAs in the Assembly. Political observers say such a…
