Congress-turned-BJP MLA Diggu will certainly wonder what’s happening back home since the time he has headed to the United Kingdom with family on a vacation. For, city BJP leader Ketanbab Kurtarkar, the brother of BJP councillor Dr Sushanta, was seen with Goa Forward chief Vijaibab Sardesai for the People’s foundation stone programme for Fatorda parking plaza. And, on Holi day, Diggu must have watched from UK how BJP MMC councillor Sidhantbab Gadekar and his dance troupe performed at the Holi celebrations hosted by the Goa Forward chief. Interesting, isn’t it?
With Sardinha showing no remorse, Cong seeks help of Central leaders
State Congress leaders look forward to party leaders, including GPCC chief Amitbab Patkar to bail out the party from the embarrassing situation with South Goa MP Francisbab Sardinha showing no remorse on the differently-abled person episode. The GPCC chief was out of station when the controversy took the social media by storm. It’s not clear whether Amitbab has spoken to the MP over the phone. Reports of the episode, sources say, have already reached the Congress leadership in Delhi. Rivals eyeing the Congress ticket for the South Goa Lok Sabha seat may use the row to deny Sardinhbab the ticket in 2024.
Minister’s admission on admin rot in PWD brings to fore sorry state
What message did PWD Minister Nileshbab Cabral sent across when he pointed out that the recruitment and promotion system in the department is defunct? Well, Cabralbab was in a jubilant mood when he descended in Saxttidom to launch the Chandor road over bridge. The PWD Minister’s open admission that the PWD plays host to a defunct system vis-a-vis recruitments and promotions has brought to the fore the sorry state of affairs. Cabralbab may say it’s hardly a year since he had taken over the reins of PWD. Will his predecessors shed light on the administrative rot in the PWD? Wait and watch.
Govt’s vocal critic GF supremo mum on raging forest fires
Where’s Goa Forward chief Vijaibab Sardesai? Nothing has been heard from the government’s vocal critic over the raging fires across the State over a week now. One who will not let the government off the hook on any issue, nothing much has been heard from the Goa Forward supremo over the fires, more so the fire in the Mhadei Wildlife Sanctuary, Sattari and other forest areas. Is it that Vijaibab does not intend to add fuel to fire or is it simply that he has nothing to say as the government and Forest Minister Vishwajitbab Rane is struggling to bring the fire under control?
6 months on, Cong turncoats still waiting for ‘promised’ rewards
It would be six months on March 14 since the eight Congress turncoats had embraced the saffron brigade in September last. There’s no news of the promised rewards, including Ministerial berths for the heavyweights till date. Speculations were rife that the Cabinet berths for these heavyweights may come after the Gujarat polls. It was later speculated that the BJP leadership may consider the case post-Assembly elections in the North Eastern states, but in vain. Questions are now doing the rounds in political circles whether the heavyweights will have to wait till the Karnataka Assembly polls for the promised rewards.
