An impression has been gaining ground by the Saxtti countryside that many a senior Congress leader apparently let the Health Minister off the hook over the Covid crisis. Call it sheer coincidence or otherwise, many felt most Congress leaders did not take the HM head on, though they sounded highly critical of the Chief Minister. Indeed, not many Congress leaders directed their statements at the Health Minister, throwing up a moot question whether party leaders feel that Rane’s on the Congress side will keep the party in good stead in the hinterland talukas in 2022. Only time will tell.
... But sursprisingly, Girish is an exception
Goa Pradesh Congress Committee Chief Girishbab Chodankar turned out to be an exception when it came to taking on the Health Minister over the Covid crisis. When other senior Congress leaders maintained an eerie silence on the Health Minister’s handling of the Covid situation, Girishbab launched an attack on the HM, even taking party colleagues by surprise. A couple of party functionary even tried to find out with the GPCC chief over his attack on the HM. Did Girishbab receive any diktat from the Party High Command not to spare anyone in the government over the crisis. Wait and watch.
Guess who's blazing at govt? It's Digambar
Leader of Opposition Digambar Kamat seemed all charged up over the Covid crisis plaguing the state. The Opposition leader has gone hammer and tongs against the Sawant government, squarely blaming the BJP for the gross Covid mismanagement. That’s not all. Someone who is not often found locking horns with political opponents, Digambar even directed his ire at PM Narendra Modiji, leaving many a Congress worker to wonder what forced the Opposition leader to suddenly fire all guns at the ruling party. Sounds interesting, isn’t it?
It's gonna be quiet birthday for Churchill
It will be a quite a birthday for Varca strongman Bab Churchill on Sunday. The Benaulim MLA, who is looking forward to play yet another innings in 2022, had initially planned celebrations on May 16 coinciding with his birthday. Like many a politicos, Churchillbab has been left with no option than to celebrate a quite birthday, with no letup in Covid cases, and the lockdown in place. It’s been a fashion and a trend for politicians in Saxttidom and outside to throw birthday parties to their supporters, more so during an election year. Any questions?
