BJP-backed Vibrant Margao seems to have resolved not to let down the women of Pajifond. Vibrant Margao Chairman Damu Naik has retained woman candidate Jaya Amonkar as candidate for ward 11 while rival Vijai Sardesai has roped in old horse Raju Naik to contest on the Fatorda Forward banner post-SC verdict. Ward 11 is the only ward in the Margao Municipal Council which has not been reserved for women for 30 years now. Pajifond voters know for sure how the local satraps manipulated their way to keep the women at bay.
