The standing committee for the Valpoi Municipal Council (VMC) was elected at a special meeting held on Saturday. Sarfaraz Sayyad was elected unopposed. The other two members are chairperson Sahazin Shaikh and vice-chairperson Anil Katkar. The meeting was called to elect the standing committee for the Valpoi Municipal Council. Meanwhile, there was a single nomination filed by Sarfaraz Sayyad.
It is learnt that he will be part of this committee for two and a half years. Later, Sharafat Khan will be elected to the committee.
When contacted chairperson Sahazin Sheikh she said that it was an all-councillor decision to elect Sarfaraz Syed to this committee.
"All administrative pending work will be sorted soon. People of VMC will get good facilities and all the internal roads will be hot mixed within eight days. The proposal for the hot mixing road is sanctioned by PWD with the strong efforts of the local MLA," said Sheikh.
She also thanked the health minister for supporting VMC for its all-around development.
