Cong leadership gets on job to pacify irked leaders

Congress leadership is on the job to pacify leaders who lost the race for the prized ticket. After Rahul Gandhi’s visit to Goa, senior leaders have reportedly got down to the serious business of pacifying aggrieved aspirants. For Vijai, induction now doesn’t augur well

Goa Forward chief Vijai Sardesai seemed to have made a tactical halt on the question of inducting BJP workers and supporters into the party-fold. Vijai went to the extent of saying that last minute induction does not augur well for those willing to embrace the party, as they run the risk of attracting the “paid entry” tag. The move assumes significance and comes against the backdrop of reports that rival Damu has fixed a schedule of induction Goa Forward workers into the party.

With the main prosecution witness PI Kapil Nayak naming Savio, the two priests and others in his deposition for assaulting him in the Church in the incident, Savio has gone around Velim telling how the police officer has foisted the case on him and the priests. And, he also questions the two former MLAs over their failure to withdraw the case against the priests.

One, why is Mickky so anxious to know the Congress party’s CM candidate when the NCP is out on the ground to defeat the Congress in a couple of seats. Or, is Mickky working on a game plan to provoke the Congress to unveil the CM’s candidate to launch an attack on the candidate and the party ahead of the polls?
