Congress Goa desk in-charge, Manickam Tagore’s deadline on Chief Minister Pramodbab Sawant to come clean on Home Minister Amit Shah’s statement on Mhadei has ended on Friday. Neither the CM has clarified or has condemned Amit Shah’s statement made in Belagavi as demanded by Tagore. In fact, Tagore had asked Pramodbab to show spine and stand up to Amit Shah by condemning him. With the CM not responding to the deadline, the focus is back on Tagore to unveil his plan, if not show the spine, how the Congress would walk the talk against the government. Any questions?
Will govt still oppose plea in Chandor protest case?
What has Congress-turned-BJP MLAs Diggu, Aleixobab Sequeira and Sankalpbab Amonkar to say on the application filed by the anti-coal activists for discharge in the historic Chandor midnight protest case? For, these three MLAs were amongst the politicos, who were part of the historic protest against double tracking, but had escaped police action. The trio is now part of the BJP government headed by Chief Minister Pramodbab Sawant, whose police had foisted the cases against activists for blocking the Chandor road. Will the government oppose the discharge applications of the activists, wait and watch?
Diktat to officials not to talk, discuss Sonsodo with scribes
When Margao MLA Diggu went into a huddle with officials to review the worsening garbage crisis at Sonsodo, a host of measures were discussed how to tide over the issue. One suggestion discussed and agreed upon, sources informed, was how to keep the media and scribes out of Sonsodo. As if there is strict manning of the entrance gate at Sonsodo, which has made difficult for scribes to gain entry at the waste dump yard is not enough, the meeting has now issued a diktat to all officials not to talk or discuss Sonsodo with the media and scribes. When this fisherman threw the gauntlet for swimming contest
Are any of the 40 Legislators ready to accept fisherman Pele’s gauntlet to beat him in swimming in the Arabian Sea? Well, of the 40 MLAs, Pele’s close friend and Goa Forward chief Vijaibab Sardesai seemed ready to accept the challenge, but is believed to sought some time. Another MLA who has evinced interest in taking up Pele’s challenge is Benaulim MLA Capt Venzybab Viegas. Venzybab, who has piloted merchant navy ships in his career, seemed not averse in taking up the challenge. What about Diggu, who is heading the Swimming Federation of India for a long time now. Will Goa Forward’s plan to revive carnival street dance find favour?
The change in political guard at the Margao Municipal Council has paved the way for the return of the Carnival parade route this ensuing Carnival festivities. Overruling the reservations raised by the Goa Forward-backed councillors, the Diggu-controlled MMC has got the carnival parade back on the old route this time round. Sources say Goa Forward chief Vijaibab Sardesai has now drawn up plans to revive the Carnival street dance under the ‘We for Fatorda’ banner at Fatorda. Wait and watch whether the programme will find favour with the BJP ruled civic body.
