Well, money, liquor, utensils, sarees et al all found their way into the slums across Margao and the neighbouring constituencies in a bid to keep the migrant voters happy. Those in the know say the days of distributing wada pao to the workers are now all over. Even those who had a limited budget on poll spending in the past were forced to open their treasury to meet the challenge posed by rivals.
