The third edition of the SARSANGAN Desserts n More Futsal Super Series concluded in electrifying fashion as Antruz Rising Stars clinched the championship with a nail-biting 3“2 victory over PDK Kings, at Seraulim.
The much-anticipated final lived up to its billing, keeping the packed stands on edge until the very last whistle. Antruz took a slender 2“1 lead into half-time courtesy of a brace from star striker Nikhil Pai Kakode, before Shivam Bale added a crucial third in the second half. PDK Kings, famed for their attacking flair, struck back through Prathamesh Prabhu and Gajanan Kamat, but the resilient Antruz defence, commanded by Gaurish Prabhudesai, held firm to seal the win.
The presentation ceremony was graced by Dr. Ketan Bhatikar, renowned social worker and physiotherapist, and Yogiraj Kamat, son of Margao MLA Digambar Kamat and a respected businessman and guests Vallabh Pai, Parai Dubhashi, Rajan Shetye, Sandip Kamat, Nagnath Shanbhag, Dr. Satyesh Kamat, Dr. Sarvesh Kamat, Sanil Shirwaikar, Tanmay Usgaonkar and Prassanna Kamat
The following individual awards were presented by the dignitaries to recognize individual brilliance: Golden Football (Best Defender): Gaurish Prabhudesai (Antruz Rising Stars), Golden Gloves (Best Goalkeeper): Sampad Kamat (PDK Kings), Golden Shoe (Top Scorer): Prathamesh Prabhu (PDK Kings), Fair Play Award: SynQ Rangers team, Emerging Player: Vedant Kharangate (Rookies FC), Special Mention: Vishal Sinai Salgaonkar (SynQ Rangers)
The spotlight, however, belonged to Nikhil Pai Kakode, whose two decisive strikes not only inspired Antruz to glory but also earned him the Man of the Finals award.
