Shaheen CK and Ritika Chelluri will face Mayank Raj and Yasmin Sayed in the Mixed Doubles final at the BPS State Badminton Ranking Tournament 2025 after both pairs triumphed in their hard-fought semifinals.
In an exciting Mixed Doubles semifinal at the Manohar Parrikar Indoor Stadium, Navelim, on Sunday, Mayank Raj and Yasmin Sayed overcame Rudra Phadte and Minoshka Pereira in a thrilling encounter, winning 20-22, 21-19, 21-16.
Meanwhile, Shaheen CK and Ritika Chelluri made light work of Aryaman Saraf and Sufiya Shaikh, cruising to a 21-16, 21-16 victory to set up the final.
The Men’s Doubles final will feature a compelling contest between Aswin Mannambalath and Shaheen CK, who caused an upset by defeating top seeds Arjun Fallary and Tejan Fallary 21-14, 22-20. They will face Aryaman Saraf and Rudra Phadte, who got past Ayaan Shaikh and Mayank Raj with a 21-14, 21-16 win.
In the singles events, Nishant Shenai (top seed) continued his dominant performance, dispatching Yash Desai 21-11, 21-9 to advance to the Men’s Singles final. He will meet Arjun Bhagat (second seed), who overcame Devansh Sakpal 21-18, 21-18 in his semifinal.
The Women’s Singles will see an exciting showdown between Sufiya Shaikh and Anjana Kumari (4). Sufiya produced an impressive performance to upset top seed Janhavi Mahale 21-19, 21-11, while Anjana triumphed over second seed Shreya Mehta with a 21-14, 21-12 victory.
In the Women’s Doubles, Shreya Mehta and Yasmin Sayed booked their final spot with a 21-13, 21-15 victory over Anjana Kumari and Janhavi Virnodkar (3). Sufiya Shaikh and Tabassum Shaikh pulled off a thrilling 21-16, 25-23 win against Ritika Chelluri and Riya Haldankar (2) to seal their place in the final.
The stage is set for an action-packed conclusion as the tournament heads into its final stages with top contenders battling for glory.
