Don Bosco Oratory, Fatorda scored a 3-1 win over Saligao United to move into the semi-finals of 16th London Trophy inter- village football tournament, organised by Goa Velha Sports Club, at Goa Velha Sports Club ground.
Elroy Barretto put Don Bosco Oratory, Fatorda ahead as early as the third minute when he shot past Sasha Jadhav in the Saligao United goal after initially side footing Saligao United central defender Paulo Joao.
DBO Fatorda's Hanslum Furtado's moves were foiled on three occasions by Saligao United keeper Sasha Jadhav first in the sixth minute and then again in the 15th minute putting out both his fierce shots for corners and also saving an effort from Hanslum Furtado from a one on one situation. Don Bosco Oratory, Fatorda led by a solitary goal at the break.
Saligao United missed a glorious opportunity to restore parity but Shubham Dessai shot tamely into the hands of Karol Soares in the Don Bosco Oratory goal off a well taken free-kick by Latesh Mandrekar in the 41st minute. Hanslum Furtado finally managed to beat Sasha Jadhav in the Saligao goal in the 45th minute when he shot home off a pass from Myron Fernandes. Micheal Dias reduced the margin for Saligao United immediately when he headed into the Don Bosco Oratory net beating Karol Soares in goal off a Nestor Dias corner in the 46th minute. Substitute Edison Dias sealed the win for Don Bosco Oratory, Fatorda when his fierce snap shot landed into the Saligao United net in the 56th minute. Saligao United went all out on attack and missed chances through Nestor Dias of Saligao United who saw his powerful strike get saved by the DBO keeper Karol Soares and Latesh Mandrekar whose shot was well saved by Karol Soares in the Fatorda goal. Paulo Joao of Saligao United saw his header from close easily saved by the DBO keeper Karol Soares.
Wedly Barretto of Fatorda and Jayganesh Goltekar and Govind Mahale of Saligao United were cautioned by the match referee Shravan Lamani.
Hanslum Furtado was awarded the Man of the Match by Michael D'Souza, Vice President of Goa Velha Sports Club.
