Mandopa Sports Club secured a spot in the quarterfinals of the 1st Antonio Colaco Memorial Football Tournament with a hard-fought 6-4 win via tiebreaker against Arlem Youth Association. The match was held at the Rosary Church Ground, Navelim, on Thursday and was organized by Mandopa Sports Club.
The game ended in a 2-2 stalemate at the end of regulation time. Venito gave Mandopa the lead in the 10th minute, but Arlem hit back through Velito in the 16th minute and Leran in the 23rd to take control. However, Mandopa equalized late in the second half with a goal from Ronaldo in the 48th minute, taking the game into penalties.
In the ensuing tie-breaker, Mandopa SC held their nerve, converting their chances efficiently to emerge victorious.
Joyson of Mandopa Sports Club was named Man of the Match, with the award presented by Anthony Pereira, former India international footballer.
