Santa Cruz Club of Cavelossim came from behind to defeat Goa Police 3-2 in the GFA First Division League at Rosary ground, Navelim, on Friday.
The Cops led 2-1 at half time. Goa Police dominated the game especially in the first half with their forwards making inroads into the rival territory and broke the deadlock in the 24th minute through Tarak Kandolkar. Stung by the reversal, Santa Cruz Club of Cavelossim upped the ante and in the 30th minute Aeren Baretto equalised through a stiff shot. Unfazed, Goa Police intensified their attacks and Tarak Kandolkar struck the second time to register his brace in the 40th minute.
The second half belonged to Santa Cruz Club as they attacked the rival citadel and Nelson Fernandes neutralised the lead in the 58th minute. With time running out, Cindroy Furtado struck the match winner and broke unbeaten jinx of the cops in the 79th minute.
