Parish Youth Nuvem cruised into the quarter-finals of the 3rd Fr. Bruno Leitao Memorial Inter-Village Football Tournament with a composed 2–0 victory over Shiroda Youth Club at the Chinchinim Church ground on Saturday. The tournament is being organized by the Union of Chinchinim Villagers.
Nuvem asserted their dominance from the outset, controlling possession and forcing Shiroda onto the back foot. The breakthrough came early in the 12th minute when Drawin Colaco’s deep cross floated over the Shiroda goalkeeper and nestled into the far corner, giving Nuvem a deserved lead.
Shiroda responded with a brief spell of pressure, but Nuvem's goalkeeper stood tall, producing a crucial one-on-one save in the 23rd minute. Just a minute earlier, Shiroda’s keeper had pulled off a brilliant diving stop to deny Nuvem a second goal.
At halftime, Parish Youth Nuvem maintained a narrow 1–0 advantage.
In the second half, Nuvem shifted gears, focusing on possession and patience. Their composure paid off in the 56th minute when a costly error from the Shiroda goalkeeper—who had ventured too far forward—left the goal wide open. Joywin Costa capitalized with a precise long-range strike into the empty net, doubling the lead and sealing the win.
