MARGAO: United Boys of Ambaulim edged out CAC Sports and Social Club 1–0 at Varca to advance to the quarterfinals of the Varca Panchayat Cup, organised by Varca Sports Club at the Varca Ground on Wednesday.
United Boys of Ambaulim took an early lead, going into halftime at 1–0. The breakthrough came in the 10th minute, when Dailon Carvalho found the net. CAC Sports and Social Club pressed hard and played an attacking game, but their efforts failed to produce an equaliser.
Dailon Carvalho was named Man of the Match for his match-winning performance.
United Boys of Ambaulim will now face United Club of Seraulim in the quarterfinals.
