Mixed doubles partners Kafil Kadvekar and Prapti Patil stormed into the finals of Gadre Gaspar Dias Open 2023 while Siddhesh Khade overcame a tough challenge to defeat Sankalp Pawar in three sets to also reach the finals of the boys' under-16 category.
Kafil and Prapti defeated Sonu Todu and Ahana Patil 4-1, 4-1 to reach the finals. Khade won the first set 4-2, lost the second 3-4 in a tie-breaker and won the last set 10-7 in another tense tie-breaker against Pawar.
In the ladies' singles category, Simran Bundela reached the semifinals of the tournament, defeating Ahana Patil 6-2, while in other rounds in the same category, Aishwarya beat Neha 6-0 and Prapti beat Tanya 6-0 to reach the semifinals.
In the four boys' under-16 quarterfinals matches, Arhan Inamdar beat Darsh 6-2, Sarthak beat Akshobhya 6-0, Siddhesh beat Krishna 6-1 and Sankalp beat Atharv 6-1. In the previous round matches played in the same category, Sarthak beat Uttam 6-0 and Atharv beat Samarth 6-2.
In other quarterfinal matches played in the boys under-12 category, Akhilesh beat Shaurya 6-2, Aditya beat Noah 6-0, Kyan beat Ishaan 6-3 and Harshit Meghani beat Vivaan Agrawal 6-3. In earlier round matches played in the same category, Shaurya beat Alec 6-0, Noah beat Arhan G 6-2, Kyan beat Ethan 6-2 and Harshit beat Adarsh 6-0. In the girls' under-12 category, Tanvi beat Nishi 6-3.
In the girls' under-16 category, Ahana beat Tithee 6-1 and Aishwarya beat Bhakti 6-0 while in the boys' under-12 category, Shaurya beat Alec 6-0, Noah beat Arhan G 6-2, Kyan beat Ethan 6-2 and Harshit beat Adarsh 6-0.
In the mixed doubles quarterfinals, Mika/Simran beat Nagesh/Neha 4-0, 4-0 and Arshad/Aishwarya beat Tejas/Stania 7-5 after Prapti/Kafil beat Harshvardhan/Nidhi 6-0 and Tejas/Stania beat Aman/Nona 6-3 in previous rounds. Vikrant reached the men's singles semifinals, defeating Ravindra 4-3, 4-1 while in the men's doubles matches Tejas/Nishad beat Prajat/Anuj 6-0 and Vikrant/Siddhant beat Mika/Aman 6-4.
