Ponda Footballers beat Navelim Sporting Club 4-3 on penalties in the final.

Ponda Footballers clinched the title in the 24th Bro Eulalio Vaz Memorial Football Tournament, defeating Navelim Sporting Club 4-3 in a penalty shootout in the final played at the Don Bosco Ground, Fatorda, on Sunday. The tournament was organised by Don Bosco Oratory, Fatorda.
The regulation time ended goalless, forcing the contest into a tiebreaker. Ponda Footballers converted through Royston Vaz, Monzilo Pereira, Climax Fernandes and Prajwal Ghadi, while Navelim Sporting replied via Noah Luís, Nash Pereira and Sweden Costa.
Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardesai was the chief guest and presented the prizes in the presence of Fr Wilfred Fernandez (Director, DBCE), Fr Mario Costa (Parish Priest, Rosary Church, Fatorda), Rev Fr Ralin de Souza (Director, DBO), GFA senior vice-president Anthony Pango, GFA executive members Constancio Paul Rodrigues, Andrew Ferrao and Cosme Oliver, and Fr Leo Pereira.
Earlier, Don Bosco Oratory felicitated its sub-junior players—Ruben Pereira, Johan Araujo, Velson Furtado and Presley Faleiro—who represented Goa at the State level.
