Three Goans namely Aman Rajbhar, Jobern Cardozo and Stewart D'Mello have been selected to attend the Under 14 India national camp at Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh to select the U-14 national football team.
Aman Rajbhar, a Std 8 student of Government High School, Amona trains with the GFDC Pre-Academy, North Goa. Jobern Cardozo is also of Std 8 at St Pius X School, Orlim. He is part of the U-14 Salgaocar FC team that recently won the GFA U-14 League. Stewart D'Mello, Std 8th, St Rita High School, Maina Curtorim is part of the U-14 Dempo SC team.
The three boys were part of the Goa Sub-Junior team that convincingly won the West Zone Round of the Sub-Junior National Football Championship held recently at Seoni, Madhya Pradesh. The final round of the Sub-Junior NFC begins on April 10, 2016 at New Delhi.
Stewart D'Mello was on a scoring spree in the West Zone event, finding the net on eight occasions in three matches, including a double hat-trick against Gujarat. Aman Rajbhar scored a fine goal in a crucial match against Maharastra in the West Zone. Stewart and Aman were ably assisted with some really good passes from Jobern who marshalled Goa's midfield area.
