It rained goals at the Rosary Ground, Navelim on Tuesday as Compassion FC emphatically thrashed Clube Sao Miguel de Taleigao 4-0 in the 6th Vedanta Women's League. Compassion FC continued their dominance and recorded their second win on the trot.
Compassion made a quick start however their forwards took time to settle down as Taleigao created flutter early on when forward Maclinessara Ribeiro unleashed a snap shot that went straight into the safe hands of goalkeeper Royena Fernandes.
Compassion broke the deadlock in the 12th minute when forward Nursrat Kotiwalle beat the rival goalkeeper and found the net perfectly to put them 1-0 ahead. Compassion nearly doubled the lead in the 25th minute when midfielder Stessi Cardozo's free-kick sailed over the crossbar.
In the second half, Compassion FC continued to enjoy the lion's share of exchanges and fired umpteen forays into the rival territory. Substitute Alicia Suzy Fernandes doubled the lead as she slammed a shot from outside of the box into the top corner.
Compassion took full control of the game when Renediana Socorinha Noronha added her name to the scorer's list in the 75th minute. Midfielder Joyvi Fernandes drove the final nail into the rivals coffin in the 87th minute.
Joyvi Fernandes was adjudged player of the match and received the award at the hands of Peter Coutinho, President of Navelim Villagers Union.
