Albert Developers emerge champs

Albert Developers defeated Politics Club by 5 runs to emerge champs in the All India tennis ball cricket tournament for Cuncolim Premier League organised by Youth of Cuncolim Sports Club at Cuncolim grounds.

Batting first, Albert Developers scored 55 runs in their stipulated overs and then restricted Politics Club to 50 runs.

The winners took home Rs 1,11,111 and a trophy while Politics had to settle for Rs 55,555 and a trophy.

Semi-final losers PHC Balli and Young Challengers of Cuncolim received Rs 22,222 each.

Mukhtiyar Kadri of Albert Developers emerged Man of the Match in the final. Best bowler and Man of the series award was bagged by Saju Naik of Albert Developers while Manoj Narvenkar of Politics was adjudged as the best batsman of the tournament.

Clafasio Dias, MLA of Cuncolim was the chief guest and gave away the prizes in the presence of Polita Carneiro, Chairperson of Cuncolim Municipal Council, Devendra Desai, Manju Shirwant, President of Youth of Cuncolim Sports Club. Subodh Sawant proposed the vote of thanks.
