Baba Boys enter finals at Verna

Baba Boys, Verna edge past United Boys of Poribhebhat 6-5 via tie-breaker to storm into the finals of All Nagoa-Verna late Benjamin Barretto football tournament at Village Panchayat sports complex, Verna on Saturday. Both the teams displayed attacking brand of soccer.

As the match progressed, Baba Boys came close in breaking the deadlock but Rayzer Braganza’s shot was blocked by the goalkeeper. Baba Boys broke the deadlock when Rayzer unleashed a volley that crashed into the net off a pass from Cyrus Noronha in the 4th minute.

Post resumption, Poribhebat showed urgency and troubled the rival defence with well orchestrated raids and their efforts bore fruit when Nicholas Colaco scored .

Baba Boys had the last laugh in the penalty shoot out. Baba Boys will meet Active Boys of Sonarvaddo-Nagoa in the final on May 28.
