Bannerman and Maruti registered big win, on Wednesday, in the ongoing All India Chandrakant Karapurkar cricket tournament at SAG Fatorda.
Sudip Faldessai and Abhinav Yadav of Bannerman scored fine half centuries with the veteran Govind Gaonkar of Bannerman picking up four wickets.
Sahil Mandrekar of Maruti also scored a fine half century to register the first win.
In the first match, Curchorem Youth Cricket Club decided to field after winning the toss against Bannerman CC.
Bannerman CC posted 164/9 in the alotted 20 overs. Sudip Faldessai (80) and Abhinav Yadav (50) played excellent knocks to put up a formidable total. Tushar Naik (2-24) and Gopal (2-28) were amongst the economical bowlers for Curchorem.
Curchorem Youth CC were bundled out for 85 runs in 18 overs. Atharva (17) was the lone top scorer of the innings. Govind Gaonkar (4-20) and Shivank Dessai (3-8) restricted their opponents with outstanding bowling spells for Bannerman.
Bannerman won by 79 runs.
In the second match. Maruti Sports Club opted to bat against Tridents Rising Star of Shirvoi
They posted 193/4 in 20 overs after a fine knock from Sahil Mandrekar (90). Siddesh Pandit (39) and Manish Yadav (36) also assisted with their contributions to the scoreboard.
Sudin Redkar (2-29) was the only standout bowler for Tridents.
Tridents were skittled for 145 in 18.1 overs. Ved Mahambre (34) and Agildas Alambatta (25) were the only decent performances with the bat for the Shirvoi side.
Maruti's Deepak Kumar (3-20) and Siddesh Pandit (3-27) scalped through the batting line-up to take their side to a 48 run win.
