Carmel Sports Club made short work of Enfermos Sports Club 6-3 in the Salcete Zone GFA Third Division league at Rosary grounds, Navelim on Wednesday.Both the teams were tied 1-1 at half time.
In an evenly poised battle, both the teams adopted aggressive approach and it was Carmel Sports Club who surged ahead in the very 3rd minute through Jovin Costa. Stung by that setback, Enfermos Sports Club regrouped quickly and took the fight to the rival camp and in the 40th minute Richard Noronha neutralized the lead.
Carmel Sports Club were more dominant in the second half and tormented the rival defence with well orchestrated raids. Joseph Fernandes who was in the thick of action made it 2-1 in favour of Carmel Sports Club in the 49th minute. Then it was the turn of Jovin Costa who completed a brace in the 53rd minute. Royceston Coutinho inflated the tally in the 66th minute.Richard Noronha completed his brace for Enfermos Sports Club in the 73rd minute.Sinclin reduced the deficit in the 79th minute. Unfazed, Carmel Sports Club went into attacking mode and at the stroke of final whistle, Jess Pires rounded off the tally.
