MARGAO: Quepem Veterans registered a convincing 3-1 victory over GVFC B Veterans in the TEG Amigos Verna-organised Veterans Football Tournament at Verna Panchayat Ground, with Rosario Carvalho starring with a brilliant hat-trick.
Carvalho led Quepem’s charge with a clinical display in front of goal, scoring all three goals to secure a memorable win for his side.
GVFC B Veterans fought hard to stage a comeback, with Babazino Dias pulling one goal back to raise hopes of a revival. However, Quepem maintained their control to seal the victory.
Carvalho’s outstanding performance earned him the Man of the Match award, which was presented by Verna-based sports enthusiast Jerry Rodrigues.
