Chandan Caro emerged as the standout performer by clinching a double crown in the Boys Under-15 and Under-17 categories, while Neeza Kamat pulled off a major upset to lift the Girls Under-17 title and Kaushik Nair captured his maiden State Ranking crown at the 1st All Goa State Ranking Table Tennis Tournament, organised by Saxtti Sports & Cultural Club and UV Academy in aegis with Goa TT Association, at UV Academy, Gomant Vidya Niketan, Margao.
Chandan came from two games down to edge Ruhaan Shaikh 3-2 in a thrilling Boys Under-15 final before overcoming Rishan Shaikh by an identical 3-2 margin in another edge-of-the-seat Boys Under-17 title clash.
Neeza upset top seed Ishita Colaso 3-0 to win the Girls Under-17 crown, while Ishita bounced back to defeat Sachi Dessai 3-1 for the Girls Under-15 title. Kaushik defeated Mission Lalpekhlua 3-1 to claim his maiden Boys Under-13 title, while Sachi Dessai prevailed over Tisha Shaikh 3-2 in a gripping Girls Under-13 final.
Top seeds Anaya Shukla and Ashank Dalvi lived up to expectations by defeating Shaurya Dessai 3-0 and Aarish Shaikh 3-1 respectively to clinch the Girls and Boys Under-11 titles, while Claire George outclassed Swara Gude 3-0 and Yajat Keny overcame Vivaan Rane 3-1 to emerge winners in the Girls and Boys Under-9 categories.
