It's a race against time and missed deadlines as Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant visited the Nehru Stadium, Fatorda on Tuesday for an on the spot inspection of the facilities ahead of the National Games, which kicks off from October 26.
It has been reported that Dr Sawant interacted with the Organising Committee officials during his inspection of the sites.
"I am certainly pleased with the completion of the works that have been made within the venues with further significant contributions by SAG ,IOA and other agencies. Athletes will be arriving tomorrow to train as well," said the Chief Minister.
Sports Minister Govind Gaude who was satisfied with the completion of arrangements at the Nehru Stadium and other venues said, "Every human effort is being made to deliver the sporting facilities well before time."
Gaude inform that LED TVs will be installed at Ravindra Bhavan, Margao, Sanquelim, Raju Kala Bhavan and other places to enable the public to view the events. He also requested the public to bare with some inconveniences as Goa is hosting major event.
"The entry will be free and will accommodate the crowd depending upon the seating. A galaxy of artists will perform at the opening ceremony for a crowd of 12,000," Gaude added.Abhishek Dhania Superintendent of Police South Goa was also present to take note of the security measures for the mega sporting event.
