Cuncolim Union booked their place in the final of the Uguem Rising Cup inter-village football tournament with a 1-0 victory over Sao Jose de Areal at the Uguem grounds.
Tushar Gaonkar scored the decisive goal in the eighth minute to give Cuncolim Union an early lead.
Daulat Dessai and Fondu Velip had opportunities to extend Cuncolim Union's advantage, while Sao Jose de Areal also missed a chance to equalise. Cuncolim Union held on to their lead until the final whistle.
Gaonkar was named Man of the Match for his contribution. The trophy was presented to him by Ugem Rising Club president Marcos Pereira.
Organised by Ugem Rising Club, the tournament will conclude with the final between Cuncolim Union and Wilred United Sports & Cultural Club on November 8 at the Uguem grounds. The match will be played on the occasion of the feast of Our Lady of Piety Church, Uguem.
