After losing to Goa Velha Sports Club 2-4 in the previous match, Curtorim Gymkhana started the game on a positive note as their forwards worked in tandem to put the rival defence under pressure. Curtorim broke the deadlock in the 19th minute when Jesmon Borges beat the rival goalkeeper with a rasping shot after being fed by Wayne Rodrigues.
At the other end, Sesa went all out in search of an equalizer but failed to get past the rival rearguard. Curtorim Gymkhana doubled the lead in the 42nd minute when Jesmon Borges beat the rival goalkeeper with a snap shot off a Neville Fernandes pass.
Post resumption, Sesa put up an improved display and unleashed numerous attacks and their efforts bore the fruit in the 52nd minute when Fezer Gomes’ freekick beat the rival goalkeeper. However, an unfazed Curtorim went into the attacking mode and sealed the rivals’ fate in the 70th minute when Roque Borges headed home off a Nelson Fernandes cross. (TGN)
