Hosts Curtorim took the lead in the 9th minute when Wayne Rodrigues sped down the rival penalty box and beat the rival goalkeeper with a neat finish. Down by early goal, Goa Velha regrouped and took the fight to the rival camp and had their own chances but Markal Morias blazed his try over
the bar.
Frayed tempers marred the clash as Goa Velha players were furious as they surrounded the referee in the 32nd minute for giving a yellow card to Filton D'Cunha for dissent.
Goa Velha managed to equalize within two minutes of the restart. Goa Velha won a freekick close to the half way line which was taken by Joseph Rodrigues.
Seeing the goalkeeper out of his goalline, Joseph flicked the ball aiming at goal and the ball found its way into the net as the Curtorim keeper was beaten from near the halfway line in the 47th minute.
