MARGAO: Hosts Curtorim Gymkhana edged out CAC Cansaulim with a narrow 1-0 victory to secure a spot in the quarterfinals of the 32nd Curtorim Panchayat Cup, held at the St. Alex Church ground in Curtorim on Friday.
In the second half, Curtorim ramped up their attacking efforts from both flanks, pushing hard for a breakthrough. The decisive moment came in the final minutes when Malcolm Fernandes delivered a perfect cross, which Nezly Hilario expertly headed in to give Curtorim the lead.
Nezly Hilario was named Man of the Match, an award presented by Chief Guest Joaquim Estibeiro, Panch of VP Curtorim.
