Dempo SC got the better of CS Minguel de Taleigao in a low-intensity 1-0 win during the GFA U-18 match played at Duler stadium, Thursday. The all-important goal was scored by Kapil Hoble in the 20th minute from a cross he received from the right. A golden opportunity to equalise went abegging for the Taleigao-based side in the 41st minute when their striker, Prajot Mandal botched a

chance off a pass received from Kreston Estrocio. The game had four cautions with Osmiro Trinidade (Dempo) receiving a double booking in the 62nd and 88th minute (sent-off), while his team-mate, Trijoy Dias was yellow-carded in the 80th minute while CSMl’s Saiesh Naik was the first to be flashed the yellow card in the 54th minute.

In another encounter, played at Agassaim ground, Portais Sporting Club proved too strong

for Ronit SC during their a convincing 4-2 win. The game revolved on the goal-poaching

prowess of Portais’ Dayne Britto who netted a hat-trick with his goals coming in the 12th, 58th and 60th minutes. His team-mate, Nikhil Naik was the other goal-scorer who found the back of the nets in the 63rd minute. For Ronit SC, Samil Kankonkar and Abhishek Haldonkar were the goal-scorers in the 23rd and 65th minutes respectively. Portais were reduced to 10 men in the 59th minute when Lyris Fernandes received his second yellow card in the match to go with the one he received in the 40th minute. Frazer Fernandes (also Portais) had a booking in the 65th minute while Tanmay Gauns of Ronit SC received one as well a couple of minutes later.

At Sanquelim grounds, Sesa Football Academy swamped Pilerne SC 5-0. For Sesa, Veegan Ferrao (26,65) and Mark Baretto (77,78) netted a brace each while their team-mate, Dhiraj Chauhan found his name on the score-sheet in the 46th minute.
