Dicarpale Sports Club registered a 3-1 win over St Sebastiao Sports Club, Fatoda in Group S of Salcete Zone GFA Third Division league at St John the Baptist Ground, Dando, Benaulim on Monday. All goals were scored in the second half.
Both the teams started the game on a cautious note and as the match progressed, had sporadic forays in rival half without much success. After a long wait, St Sebastiao breached the rival citadel in the 53rd minute when striker Volly Vaz unleashed a stiff shot to beat the keeper. But their joy was short-lived as Dicarpale brought the match on an even keel after Cliffton Rebello beat the rival goalkeeper with a pile-driver.
A revitalized Dicarpale intensified their attacks and in the 79th minute, Joel Colaco made it 2-1 when he beat the rival goalkeeper with a rasping volley. There was no stopping the Dicarpale lads as Ryan Furtado scored again to put the match beyond St Sebastiao's grasp.
At Betalbatim ground, Sporting Club of Davorlim gained a walkover as their opponents Parish Youth, Nuvem did not report for the match at the scheduled kick-off.
