It is a tale of young girl Nikita (Antonette de Curtorim)who is in love with Anver (Ulhas Tari). She is carrying his child and lives inthe hope that Anver will marry her. But, Anver has other plans and ditches herafter a while. Joshua (Victor) anotheryoung man, who always had a soft corner for Nikita compromises to marry herdespite knowing the truth. His hopes of having a happy marriage are dashed whenNikita begins to show her true colors and tries to drive a wedge in the happyfamily.
Nikita gets hostile with her father-in-law (Rose Ferns) aretired man, and her sister in law Divya ( Bhuska) and tries every trick in thebook to sow seeds of discord in the family. She conspires and schemes andsucceeds at it too. Things get a little too far when out of the blues Anvermakes a sudden appearance at her house. The visit changes the course of thethings to come. Nikita re-kindles her longing for Anver and here on begins yetanother innings of scandal. The story takes a ‘U’ turn and heads for the finalclimax.
Divya in the meantime finds her match in Myron (Joslan) anice young man and make plans for a dream marriage. But, all their dreams standshattered when one fine day Divya is abducted from a garden and raped by animposter posing as a Police Officer. The rapist has the audacity to film theentire shameful deed and go to the extent of circulating the clips on theirwedding day. You got to watch the tiatr to see how the playwright has scriptedits ending.
Rose Ferns has scripted the play with meaningful parables tobring home the message. The script is well acted out by the characters; UlhasTari in a negative role, Bhuska as the victimized girl Antonette de Curtorimfor her cruel portrayal, Victor, Joslan, Rosario de Benaulim as a PoliceInspector, Anthony who plays the Home Minister. Rose Ferns who plays a polishedrole as the sensible father makes a point and conveys a strong message to theaudience on how to protect victims of rape and get justice.
The tiatr balances well with the music, the singing,settings and light effects. The songs are interesting which includes duets,solos, trios. The comedians, Selvy, Costy, Richard and Anita keep the audienceentertained from beginning till the end. Comedian Selvy is in a devastatingform. Comedian Costy has done a pleasing act and his character reminds theviewers of late Rosario Rodrigues.
