Fatorda Veterans prevailed over Temptation Miramar Veterans 4-2 via tiebreaker to storm into the quarterfinal of All Goa Assolda Veterans football tournament organized by Assolda Veterans at Borimol Sports Complex, Quepem on Thursday.
Both the teams were locked in a goalless draw at the end of regulation period.
Fatorda Veterans held the upper hand in both the sessions of play and their forwards were guilty of misfiring from close range.
Temptation Veterans could have lost the match in the normal time itself, but for their goalkeeper Mahesh's superlative saves.
Post resumption, Fatorda Veterans continue to enjoyed the better share of exchanges and would have taken the lead but Temptation Veteran goalkeeper Mahesh came to his side's rescue when he blocked Remmy Colaco's rasping shot. Mahesh of Temptation Veterans who was rock solid under the bar was named man of the match.
In the ensuing tiebreaker, Remmy Colaco, Joao Fernandes, Caitano Fernandes and Chandrakant Niak found the mark for Fatorda Veterans while Paulo and Neves Araujao scored for Temptation Veterans.
