FC Bardez came back from two goals down to hold Vasco Sports Club to a 3-3 draw, in the 13th round match of GFA Pro-League at Duler stadium here on Monday. Teams were locked 1-1 at half time. FC Bardez now have 15 points from 9 matches, while Vasco SC are on 10 points from 9 matches.

Vasco in-charge Eban Mesquita after seeing his team lose to Dempo SC, brought in three changes in his starting line-up in the form of Micky Fernandes, Deryl Endro and Flan Gomes. FC Bardez had won against Signals last time out and coach Armando Colaco made just one change with Micky Vaz coming in.

In the very 2nd minute, Jessel Carneiro collecting a pass from Kirtikesh Gadekar, drilled a power-packed shot which hit the side netting as FC Bardez declared their attacking intent. Five minutes later, another opportunity went in vain for the Pink brigade as Kirtikesh was thwarted by Vasco goalkeeper Amit Biswas in an one-to-one situation.

Vasco SC also launched a fierce attack and in the 10th minute, Schubert Pereira’s strike from inside the penalty box, was blocked by Bardez goalkeeper Aliston Fernandes. A 40-yard free-kick by Micky Fernandes in the 14th minute, was also collected by goalkeeper Aliston, to keep Vasco at bay.

In the 25th minute, however, Vasco tasted success as referee Melroy D’Silva awarded them a penalty-kick after Gaurav Vaigankar brought down Anil Gaonkar. Micky Fernandes stepped up and made no mistake to score. FC Bardez leveled the scores as Krishnanath Shirodkar scored a gem of a goal with a diving header off a cross from Jessel Carneiro (1-1).

On crossing over, a superb cross inside the penalty-box was not cleanly collected by goalkeeper Aliston to find Vasco’s Vasseba Youre tapping the ball home in the 49th minute (2-1). The Port-Towners continued their domination and netted their third goal, as Micky Fernandes who played a vital role in the midfield, sent a through pass for Schubert to get past the goalkeeper and place the ball into the nets (3-1).

However, the never say die spirit fro FC Bardez players saw the Pink brigade score two goals in the 67th and 85th minutes, to salvage a point. A well-executed direct 20-yard free-kick by Jessel zoomed past the shaky Vasco defensive wall. Shubham Dessai was at the right place to nod the ball into the Vasco goal off a cross by Caitano Viegas (3-3). In the closing stages of the match, both teams lost a glorious chance each, to return home with

victory.

Caetano Viegas’ cross from the left flank hit Vasco’s horizontal bar, while at the other end in the 94th minute, a superb 25-yard curling right-footer by Schubert Pereira hit the post with Bardez goalkeeper beaten.
