Displaying complete dominance throughout the game, Fr Agnelo YSC Paroda stormed to a resounding 4-1 victory over St Anthony SC Assolda, clinching the title of the 52nd Custodio Memorial Inter-Village Football Tournament, organized by Raia Sporting Club and played at the Raia Panchayat football ground.
With the win, Fr Agnelo YSC Paroda took home a cash prize of ₹1,00,000 and the championship trophy, while runners-up St Anthony SC Assolda settled for a ₹70,000 prize and a trophy.
St Anthony SC had a bright start, creating two early chances through Samuel Piexoto and Richard Fernandes, but the rest of the match was thoroughly controlled by the Paroda side.
Melson Fernandes opened the scoring in the 26th minute, beating St Anthony’s goalkeeper Oswin Rodrigues. Early in the second half, Selton Fernandes doubled the lead. Substitute Ashwan Fernandes added a third, and Sowell Fernandes sealed the result with a fourth goal. Drayan Fernandes managed to pull one back for St Anthony SC in the dying moments of the match.
