A futsal turf 'Simpliz Turf' in Cavorim Covatem Chandor was inaugurated by chief guest Rev Fr Simao Rodrigues, parish priest of Nessa de Senhor Bellem Church, Chandor on Saturday.
Chandor Sarpanch Edward D'Silva, Derrick Pereira, Joseph Antao, panchas of Chandor and Guirdolim respectively, and Simplicio Diniz, owner of Simpliz Turf, were also present on the occasion.
The turf will cater to futsal and is spread over an area of 30mts x 18 mts. Fr Rodrigues in his address said that the turf will give an opportunity to the youngsters to develop their game and fitness. “It is not to distract them. This will keep the students away from the vices,” Rodrigues said. He also congratulated the owner Simplicio Diniz and his family on the inauguration of the turf. Fr Rodrigues said it will help a lot of people to get the facilities in their locality.
The facility is built by Simplicio Diniz and the logistics will be managed by him. “I am very excited about the project. It will be an excellent opportunity for my village and neighbouring brethren to take advantage of this facility,” Diniz said.
“It’s a one of a kind facility in the village. I felt why not get a proper state of the art turf and a professional who could train the youth and provide them with the right guidance. There are lot of talents in our village and state,” Diniz added.
The Simpliz Turf charges: On weekdays: Rs 500 per hour up to 6 pm, Rs. 1000 per hour after 6 pm; On weekends: Rs 800 per hour up to 6 pm, Rs 1200 per hour after 6 pm.
