Goa Police, ICSC Paroda in goalless draw

Goa Police Sports Club missed series of chances and were held to a goalless draw by Immaculate Conception Sports Club (ICSC) Paroda in the GFA First Division League at Government Village School playground, Cuncolim on Sunday.

Both the teams pressed for an early goal and had equal number of scoring chances. As the match progressed, Goa Police forced the pace and the duo of Vineet Bugde and Nevil Saores harried the Paroda defence. Goa Police sounded a warning in the 12th minute when striker Vineet Bugde unleashed a rasping shot but it missed the target narrowly.

Meanwhile, Paroda lads regrouped quickly but striker Eloy Soares failed to beat the rival goalkeeper Niklesh Naik in a one-to-one situation after Godfrey Silva laid him on the platter. Vineet Bugde then missed what was probably the easiest of several chances.

National windsurfing c’ship on May 17

The All India Board Sailing Championship and the Goa State Board Sailing Championship, organised by the Goa Yachting Association (GYA) and Board Sailing Association of India (BSAI), will start from Wednesday, May 17, at Dolphin Adventure Sports Centre, Hawaii Beach, Dona Paula. It will conclude on Sunday, May 21.
