Goa suffered a crushing 176-run defeat against Vidarbha in their final Group C match of the Vinoo Mankad Trophy Elite Under-19 cricket tournament at the GMSS Sector 26 Cricket Ground in Chandigarh on Friday.

Chasing Vidarbha’s total of 249, Goa were bowled out for 73 in 23.5 overs. Captain Aaradhya Goyal did not bat due to injury. Goa thus ended their campaign without a win, losing all five matches in the tournament.

Goa’s bowlers had reduced Vidarbha to 56 for five, but half-centuries from Sarvesh Ikhankar (58), Saish Bhise (94) and Om Luthade (51) helped Vidarbha recover and post a competitive total. For Goa, fast bowler Chigurupati Venkat claimed four wickets for 42 runs, while Atharva Devidas took three for 41. Shamik Kamat took two wickets, and Afridsab Rajkannawar took one.

Goa’s batting failed to withstand Vidarbha’s bowling attack, with Mohit Yadav top-scoring with 33 runs and Mihir Kudalkar contributing 12. Nihal Maurya, Om Luthade, and Om Dhotre each took two wickets for Vidarbha, while Yash Patil and Himanshu Kawale took one wicket each.
