Hosts Goa continued their impressive run at the 69th National School Games Beach Volleyball Championship at Miramar Beach, with both boys’ and girls’ teams advancing to the semi-finals after a strong Day 2 performance on Wednesday.
After an unbeaten run on Day 1, the Goan boys topped Pool C with two wins to qualify for the quarter-finals, while the girls finished runners-up in Pool B behind Tamil Nadu to also progress.
In the final round of pool matches on Day 2 morning, the girls went down to Tamil Nadu 0-2 but still secured qualification, while other results confirmed the knockout line-up.
In the quarter-finals, the Goa boys dominated CBSE 2-0 (21-3, 21-2) to storm into the semi-finals. The girls showed resilience to bounce back, edging Punjab 2-1 (20-22, 21-6, 15-12) to also enter the last four.
On the final day, the Goa girls will face West Bengal in the semi-final at 8 am, while the boys will take on Tamil Nadu at 9 am in the clash for a place in the final.
With both teams in contention, Goa will look to make the most of home conditions and push for podium finishes.
