Goa Velha Sports Club prevailed over Navelim Sporting Club 5-4 via tie-breaker to cruise into the semi-finals of All Goa Chandor Seamen's Trophy football tournament organized by Chandor Club at Chandor grounds, on Friday.

Both teams showed the attacking intent right from the start as Goa Velha got into the groove and Nikesh Mangueskar sounded the warning when his try missed the target narrowly in the 10th minute. At the other end, Navelim Sporting Club did not lag behind as striker Aulon Gomes outwitted a couple of defenders but his try hit the post much to the dismay of Navelim supporters in the 10th minute. Post resumption both teams showed urgency and raided the goal. However, Goa Velha came close in breaking the deadlock but Sarjeev Kunkolkar's shot sailed over the cross bar. With the match heading towards a tie-breaker, Navelim Sporting had a golden chance to strike the match-winner but Suraj Naik's feeble shot went straight into the safe hands of rival goalkeeper. In the resultant tie-breaker, Goa Velha netted through Yogendra Thapa, Nikesh Mangueshkar, Sarjeev Kunkolkar, Joseph Rodrigues and Agnelo Silva while Avlon Gomes, Suraj Naik, Darren Peixoto and Jaison Martins found the mark for Navelim Sporting Club.
