Govind, Anjana, Tejan, Emilia win

Govind Navelkar and Anjana Kumari registered clinical wins to emerge Men’s and women’s singles champions at the All Goa Major Ranking Badminton Tournament organised by Sunny Sports Club in collaboration with Goa Badminton Association, Yonex Sunrise Sports and SAG, at Indoor stadium, Campal.

Tejan Fallary and Emilia Silveira won double crowns each, winning the doubles and mixed doubles titles. Anar Singbal and Parteek Mahajan were the other winners in the season’s first Ranking Tournament. Aashrun Gautam, Yasmin Sayed, Manjushri Raut, Dhruv Angle, Kamlesh Kanji, Pranjal Chimulkar and Anushka Kuvelkar had to settle for the runners - up spots. Lydia Barreto and Shubham Kumar emerged promising players of the tournament.   
Sanjiv Gadkar, Director (Administration), Goa Medical College, was the chief guest for the prize distribution function. Mr. Vivek Zadoo, Regional Manager, Yonex Sunrise, Mr. Hilary Fernandes, and GBA Officials Narahar Thakur, Anil Painguinkar, Sandeep Heble and Luciano Soares graced the occasion. Mr. Vinayak Kamat, SAG Coach, was the championship chief referee while Pradosh Silimkhan compered the closing function.   
Results: Women’s Singles - Anjana Kumari bt Yasmin Sayed 21-18, 21-16, Women’s Doubles - Anar Singbal / Emilia Silveira bt Anushka Kuvelkar / Pranjal Chimulkar 21-10, 21-13, Men’s Doubles - Tejan Fallary / Parteek Mahajan bt Dhruv Angle / Kamlesh Kanji 21-14, 21-15, Men’s Singles - Govind Navelkar bt Aashrun Gautam 21-12, 21-9, Mixed Doubles - Tejan Fallary / Emilia Silveira bt Parteek Mahajan / Manjushri Raut 16-21, 21-12, 21-16.
