A 10-day gymnastic camp was jointly organized by Kreeda Bharati-Goa and Goa Gymnastic Association at Kids Nest High School, Ponda which concluded recently.
Twenty-three boys and girls participated in the camp. Ashwin Patil from Mumbai, national medallist trained the participants. In the concluding session, participants demonstrated various gymnastic drills. Certificates were given to all the participants by chief guest, Rukmi Dangui, Headmistress of the Kids Nest School.
Speaking on the occasion, Sudesh Thakur, President of Goa Gymnastic Association, said, “Gymnastics is called the mother of all games. In countries like Australia, South Africa, America, China etc. this game is made compulsory in all the schools from pre-primary level. Gymnastics makes players mentally, physically strong, increases stamina, concentration and makes the body flexible. Gymnastics mould the body of player in such a way that they would not face any difficulty to opt for other games in later stage as per their likes."
Chief guest Dangui said that her institution will provide all required facilities to Kreeda Bharati for promotion of sports. Ajay Savoikar gave the vote of thanks and Vrushali Kelekar compèred the programme.
