Haryana Police, ONGC move ahead

Haryana Police overcome Income Tax ,Hyderabad 25-22, 24,-26, 30-28 ,17-25 and 15-12 in the opening match of All India Invitational Volleyball tournament organised by Cuncolim Union at flood-lit court, Cuncolim on Wednesday.

Subesingh, Kamlesh and Dipesh Kumar mesmerized the crowds with some brilliant smashes.Income Tax were well served by Anup D’Costa and Sujith excelled for the losers. In the second match ONGC, Dehradun beat holders Cuncolim Union 25-22, 24-26 ,30-28 ,17-25 and 15-12.

ONGC’s Vinit Kumar, Mandeep Singh and Lalit Kumar turned the match on its head with a vintage performance to ensure victory.

Earlier, the tournament was declared open by former State volleyball player and Assistant Commissioner John D’Cruz in the presence of Elvis Gomes, chairman of Organizing commitee.

St Alex HSS blank Kendriya in U-19 soccer hunt tourney

St Alex Higher Secondary School, Curtorim blanked Kendriya Vidayala (1) 3-0 in a Group A Boy’s encounter of Oorja- CAFF’s Under 19 football talent hunt tourney at Nagoa grounds on Wednesday. St Alex HSS dominated both the sessions with Joy Hilario troubling the rival defender as he missed two sitters in the 23rd and 29th minute respectively.
