MARGAO: Parish Youth,Nuvem blanked CJ Ribandar 2-0 to enter the semi-finals of Sancho Coelho memorial inter-village football tournament organized by Navelim Sporting Club at Rosary grounds,Navelim on Friday. Parish Youth dominated both the sessions as Albino Pereira gave them the lead in the first session of the play and he later doubled it in the second session.
Santosh Trophy selections at Duler
MARGAO: The Goa Football Association (GFA) will conduct selection trials for the State football team for the Santosh Trophy Zonal qualification round to be held in February 2016. Trials will be conducted on December 29&30 from 9am to 10 am at Duler Stadium,Mapusa.

MARGAO: King’s High School, Sao Jose de Areal beat Rosary High School, Navelim by 44 runs to book their place in the semis of the U-16 Dilip Sardesai (Salcete Zone) cricket tournament organized by Goa Cricket Association at MCC grounds,here on Friday. Electing to bat first, King’s School scored 143 in their innings with Vivek Patel top-scoring with 30 runs. In reply, Rosary HS fumbled in their innings as they were bowled out for just 99 runs, with Vivek Patel again performing with the ball to scalp four for 11. move into the second round of the U-16 inter school Dilip Sardesai
cricket tournament at Bandodkar grounds, Panaji on Friday.Batting first, Don Bosco HS scored 160 in 34.2 overs with Shanu Vantamuri top- scoring with 55 runs. In reply, Red Rosary HS' innings folded for 111 runs with Sagar Vantamuri picking up four wickets in 14 runs. Introductory course in chess
PANAJI: Introduction to chess, a five-day course will be conducted for children during Christmas holidays in two categories by chess coach Shravan Shrikant Barve, FIDE rating 1825. The course will be held at 4th floor,Vrindavan Chambers, above hotel Ruchi, Patto- near Panaji bus stand from December 28, 2015 to January 1, 2016. Categories are - 6 to 8 yrs from 3pm to 4 pm; 9-12 yrs from 4.15pm to 5.15 pm.
