G R Kare College of Law, Margao emerged inter-collegiate powerlifting champions for the fourth consecutive year in the tournament organised by Goa University.
Final year student Abhinav Marathe, who had
represented Goa University at the all-India inter University championship, along with Omkar Prabhudesai and Harshad Bandodkar performed excellently to win gold medals
in their respective weight categories. Pratik Majalkar, also a final year student,
won bronze.
Sarvesh Samant, Athul Anil, Harshad Bhandari, Shubhankar Mapari, Sushant Gurav and Shivam Gurav were the members of the powerlifting squad. Damodar Naik accompanied the team.
Congratulating the team, HOD Goreti Morais Simoes
appreciated the efforts of the Department of Sports, particularly Sports
Director Manoj Hede for achieving the feat of being champions for four times in
a row in the sporting
discipline.
