On Friday, the penultimate day of the tournament, Purple and Turquoise registered wins to book their finals spot. Cream Gender Equality were the other winners on the day and will fight for the third place in a playoff
against Ebony.
In the first game, Purple Women's Empowerment thumped Crimson Mutual Consent 5-0. In the first half, the Purple outfit completely dominated ball possession and the game was mainly restricted in Crimson's territory. They scored four goals in the opening half with Achima Begum (9'), Shrutika Amle (13', 24'), Candice Fernandes (17') coming to
the party.
There were many goal-bound efforts by Purple side, but for Crimson's custodian Afifa Ahmed's sterling performance under the horizontal the scoreline would have made a worse reading.
There were sporadic counter attacks by the Crimson brigade but which proved futile. Post resumption, Purple continued their domination but lacked vigour and intensity in their attacks. Rhea Noronha notched the fifth goal for Purple in the 34th minute.
A four-goal superlative show by Karishma Shirvoikar helped Turquoise Female Autonomy win against Silver Self-Determination 4-1.
Turquoise had a great chance to go ahead early in the game when Nevilla Calado's goal-bound strike missed the target by a whisker. The match was thereon fought on an even keel with Turquoise growing into the game in the latter stages of the first half with Karishma netting three goals (19', 21' and 22').
After the lemon break, Turquoise continued from where they left off with Karishma striking another goal in the 35th minute. Silver had a consolation own goal netted in the 43rd minute through Vanishka.
In the third game, Cream Gender Equality registered a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Blue Bodily Integrity. The lone goal came from the boot of Usha in the 32nd minute. Earlier Cream's Dhwani Kitchlue muffed up a penalty chance in the 18th minute.
In the fourth and final game of the day, Golden Grow Visibility and Ebony Equal Opportunity played out a
goalless draw.
In the other playoffs, Crimson will take on Golden in the fight for the seventh place. The match (9 am kick-off) is the first fixture on the final day. In the fifth place playoff, Blue take on Silver.
